…for a Met Performance!
A 10 de Dezembro, no Met, estreia uma nova produção de Guerra e Paz, de Procofiev.
Para o efeito, dadas as exigências megalómanas da produção, estão a recrutar-se figurantes masculinos.
«Yesterday morning, dozens of men — middle-aged fathers and spiky-haired 30-somethings, psychiatrists and editors — flocked to Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian Church on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. They came not to pray but to pretend: The Metropolitan Opera was in need of about 160 good men.
The Met was holding auditions for extras in its coming production of “War and Peace,” an epic opera based on Tolstoy’s epic novel. It will be one of the largest productions in the Met’s history: 1,200 costumes, 52 soloists singing the parts of 68 characters, 118 choristers, 41 ballet dancers, about 250 extras and a horse, a dog, a goat and four chickens»
